The WWDC 2010 will see Apple release the iPhone OS 4.0, the third significant upgrade for iPhone and iPod Touch phones. The OS 4.0 features many new functions and the most significant of them all is that of multitasking, which will not be available in iPod Touch phones (1G/2G and 3G) and iPhone 3G. As far as iPhone 3G is concerned it is all but dead and OS 4.0 wouldn’t support it, not officially at least.

When OS 3.0 was released it wasn’t free of cost and if Apple does the same with OS 4.0 then this update wouldn’t be free of cost for iPod touch phone users. To update your iPod Touch you will have to shell out either $9.95 or $4.95 depending on your upgrade. It is totally unfair and is widely believed that this upgrade should have been for free. So, if you want this update and yet don’t want to pay for it, here are the ways to do it.

In order to upgrade iPod Touch phones to 4.0 OS for absolutely no cost you simply need to download latest iTune and install them. Then you will have to download iPhone OS 4.0 from the site, which is free to download. Connect the iPod Touch to a PC/Mac and start iTunes and there are a few more steps that you need to follow and you can enjoy OS 4.0 for free.

Well, I guess this comes as a relief for many who wanted this update and yet not wish to pay for it!

The iPhone and the iPod touch are extremely smart and powerful devices but have some very basic shortcomings that could be very frustrating. Like a keyboard cannot be attached to it or you can’t directly print to Bluetooth or other USB connected printing devices.

However, there are ways of printing through the iPhone without connecting it to any other device. Though some of the iPhones can print photos only, it is acceptable as these machines are more suitable for taking screen shots. To print, you just need to press a button and the printing starts immediately. The same trick can be applied in taking prints of other things as well.

In spite of limitations, the print applications of iPhone and the iPod can be quite useful and fairly interesting too. There are three types of print applications-

Direct printing: This application enables you to print to an inkjet printer without the involvement of any computer. You just need to have a Wi-Fi connection and it is very simple to use, printing one photo in one time.

Shared printing: Shared printing, as the name suggests helps you print using a shared Wi-Fi network. You just need to connect the Mac and the iPhone to a Wi-Fi network and you are ready to print.

Helper Apps: In this application you need to install an additional helper to the Mac or a PC and you can print through the printer connected to these devices.

So, we can conclude the print applications in iPhones are pretty good, considering the complexities involved.

It goes without saying that the iPhone is not only one of the hottest phones ever it is also one of the most successful products Apple has ever created. However, Apple has made a step further and created a new revolutionary gadget – iPod.

This product looks exactly like the iPhone and it features its main advantages, but it doesn’t call. It is a highly-functional multimedia device with a stunning display and amazing tech specs. Now, you can have similar features available for the iPhone and there is no need to pay more.

iPod features such functions as mp3, personal organizer, and web browsing – it will take you a couple of seconds to get access to any wireless network.

As to me, the new iPod Touch is perfect as a personal organizer and it will be highly useful while planning your schedule.

Most gamers will definitely like huge gaming possibilities this gadget presents. Since the gadget comes with the built in access to the Apple Store all iPod users are capable of downloading any games they want and like.

And, of course, it is one of the best mp3 players you’ve ever used.

To my mind, this gadget will sell even better than iPhone and most of popular mobile phones.

You may have made some great videos of your near and dear ones with your iPod Nano and would definitely love them to post on YouTube or other social networking sites. In order to do so, you you would have to transfer them to your computer so that you can edit them. If you were thinking how it is done, here is a simple guide that would enable you to move the recorded videos to your computer.

First of all, you have to connect the iPod Nano to the system after you have enabled the iPod disk and choose iPod in the device list of iTunes. You can then click apply to “Enable disk use” which would appear in the summary tab. You would also need iPod software to transfer the video as iTunes does not let you copy files that are non-purchased from your iPod to your system. When you connect your iPod with the system after installing the software, you would have to run the iPod transfer which would list all the files present in the iPod.

You can then click on “Export” to transfer the chosen recorded video to your system. This operation can also be used to transfer music and images and works in the same way for the Mac users, though, it has a different version for them. For uploading the video to YouTube, you would have to get it in the right format. The video converter software helps you import the iPod recorded video. You have to choose AVI and click “Convert” to convert the video which you upload once you log in YouTube.

Enhancing the lifespan of your iPod’s battery can be very easy if you pay attention to some of the following tips. One of the basic things that you need to do to improve the battery life of your iPod is to keep it away from the sun as the exposure to heat reduces the performance of your battery. Battery life generally refers to the time duration for which your iPod runs without requiring a recharge.

The ideal temperature for an iPod to work at its best is between 32° to 95° F. Users must also make sure that they also have the latest Apple software for your iPod as there are up gradation made on a regular basis. For example a 1.3 update is very beneficial for iPod models that did not have dock connector.

Your iPod can be updated with the latest software by the use of iTunes 7.4 or later. All you need to do is to plug your iPod into the computer or put it in the dock to find out if there is an update available which would be notified to you by iTunes.

Charging your battery on a regular basis also keeps the electrons moving and ensures that it gets proper maintenance. There are also features that exhaust your iPod battery very quickly and should be optimized using the right settings. If you limit your fast forwarding and use compressed songs which use more power, you can further ensure a long life for your iPod battery.

The iPod is a revolutionary device for all music lovers, enabling them to listen to their favorite music on the move. There have been many updates made for the iPod from time to time making it more beneficial for the users and continuing on the same lines the fifth generation of the iPod has come up with the facility of handheld video. Downloading movies to your iPod is very simple but for all those who have their little doubts, this guide would certainly make it even easier. To start with, you would require an internet connection, a computer which has Windows XP as O.S. and iPod which comes with a video capacity.

Get your account activated in one of the many online networks that provide the users with a variety of movies to choose from. One such network is iTunes 6 which you can install along with the iPod software which is available in the CD that comes along with the iPod package.

Choose the movie that you wish to have from the list of the movies and click on it. You must choose Video iPod/Sony PSP and save the file after clicking on the Download option. The purchase that you have made can be verified from the “Movies” tab which you can find it in “Library” pane. You can make the movie a part of your collection by going to the “Add file to the Library” and clicking on “Open”. The update is made by clicking the OK tab which is there in the edit menu. You can now enjoy the just downloaded movie by clicking on “Videos” and then choosing the “Movies” option on your iPod.

The iPod accessory market has experienced an incredible growth in the past few years which is the primary reason why the iPod Nano is still the leader in the digital MP3 market. The inability of the internal speakers of the iPod to play audio files has resulted in many people buying external speakers. However, the internal player is still important as it is required for the alarm clock and the warning tones.

One of the major advantages of buying external speakers is that you would be able to share the tunes with your family and friends. People who are fond of listening to live radio can also consider buying FM transmitters. In the list of the accessories that you may consider buying for your iPod the ones that protect your device from external scratch and dirt should be given a priority. Another very convenient and handy accessory for your iPod would be the armband. This innovative accessory allows you to be in touch with your tunes regardless of where you are. You can also consider buying headphones matching your iPod.

BMW has even introduced iPod accessory for its vehicles. The iPod is located into the steering wheel and is connected to a cable harness so that it does not get affected by the bumpy roads and stays at its place. So, with all these accessories to choose from you can definitely make your iPod stand out from the crowd.

How? For example, make a TV-set out of your ordinary monitor. TV on PC has numerous advantages, just imagine, it’s 5 minutes away from your favourite movie and you have no television nearby. Any suggestions? You can easily turn your PC into a TV in a nick of time. It’s a convenient and cheap way to get the most of your ordinary PC.

Here’s what you’ll need to get Watch Cable and Satellite Online:

A decent PC monitor, you’d better pay attention to flat versions. If you don’t have one it’s time to get a nice high-quality monitor and enjoy TV programs and movies on a big, bright screen;

Get appropriate software or dealer and install all the necessary applications;

Make sure that everything works properly;

Clarify the number of channels your provider is going to ensure;

If you would like to watch DVD movies on your PC, you have to think about this option beforehand and to buy special hardware and software.

And believe me, such television offers a lot of pros and actually no cons. It is comfy and affordable, it has amazing quality and a great number of channels to watch. Happy watching!
