Your iPod Touch can be turned into a universal remote control, thanks to a new accessory and free application announced by L5 Technology recently. The L5 remote control was unveiled at the ShowStoppers panel in the CES 2010. This remote control gives the consumers a wonderful alternative to replace the multiple and baffling remote control devices. With its help, you can now control your TV, DVD, audio equipments and many other products that have an infra red remote using your iPhone or iPod Touch.
The L5 Remote has been developed by the L5 Technology and is made of a tiny hardware device that can be plugged into the dock connector of an iPod Touch or an iPhone as well. With an easy set up and features like drag and drop, users have the privilege to create their own customized remote control interface. After they purchase the L5 Remote, the users have to download a free application from the iTunes App Store. The application guides the users and helps them learn ways by which they can control the other infrared devices.
The infrared technology allows the L5 Remote to exercise control on a number of devices in unlimited places. The range of the remote is approximately 30 feet. It is portable and requires no batteries, Wi-Fi or external power to work. The list of devices and products that L5 can control includes TVs, air conditioners, stereos, DVD players and the list is almost endless. Priced at $49.95, the L5 remote would be available in the market from February this year.
